The Message

The one person who introduced me to my love of music was my mother. One of our mother/son bonding times which I miss is that when I was kid, she would break out all of her old records that she collected when she was growing up and we listen to them into the wee hours of the night. One night while digging through various 45's I found this song by Cymande "The Message", at the time I was well into the golden age of Hip Hop during the early 90's and wondered why no one had ever sampled this beat (someone ended up doing so eventually), but anyway I've always jocked this song heavily and it reminds me of simpler times to a funky beat.
